Donald Scarfe passed away on 18th June 2023, aged 102 at Sutton Manor Nursing Home, Winchester. Loving husband of Rita and previously Janet (née Maguire), dearly loved and missed by their extended families.

Thoughts
Donald, we truly were blessed to have known you. Thank you for all the love you showed our family, and for loving our Nana so very much! You set a rather high standard for romance. Thank you for that.
Here are some thoughts I wrote down the day I heard you’d left us.
You just said goodbye to the love of your life. They checked in on you for one last time, then a long good night
And you’ll need reminding in the morning, and again as you dress. But you aren’t sad, he’s just in the other room to you.
That veil has been thin for the longest time.
Two lifetimes. Or, soberingly, more.
And so it goes…
That’s the very best you can hope for.
Isn’t that terrifying?
Isn’t it heartbreaking?
Isn’t it utterly wonderful?
